Exclusive rings

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 12:00:00 PM in Wellendorf (31)

Aside from its spinning patent feature, Wellendorff is also known for its iconic Ring of the Year collection. We got a glimpse of these luxuriously crafted rings last year, when Wellendorff exhibited the rings to celebrate its 20th anniversary. It was in 1997 when Wellendorff started creating a limited Special Ring edition and engraved with the year. The Special Rings also feature a special motif, such as, angles, butterflies, and fireworks. All the nineteen Special Rings were on display at the Year Exhibition at Gallery last year in Hong Kong. Some of the items mark special events, such as: the handover of Hong Kong to China and the 2015 edition, the Love for Life motif. This year, Wellendorff is releasing only 216 Danke rings for select women, keeping with the collection’s exclusivity appeal.

Royal Jewel

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 1:00:40 AM in Wellendorf (31)

Wearing Wellendorff jewelry is more than just showcasing its quality workmanship or stylish design. It’s also about telling your friends about your taste for heritage and royalty. The signature, after all, was borne out of medieval European royalty in Germany, when a goldsmith and designer would stop by a favorite watering hole by royalty in Baden-Baden to showcase his works. Ernst Alexander Wellendorff would earn the admiration of kings, queens, princes and princesses for his masterpieces. The same royal elegance has been maintained by the company through the centuries, including the styles the signature carries today. These have been handed down from Ernst’s time to today by his great-great grandchildren. Next time people admire your Wellendorff, don’t just talk about its quality craftsmanship; impress them by telling them that you are wearing something that’s been worn by Europe’s royal class centuries ago.

The Stories it keeps

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 7:00:00 AM in Wellendorf (31)

Wellendorff diamond jewelry are lavish and can be overwhelmingly eye-catching for someone who is new to fine jewelry. But the signature isn't all about material value. It symbolizes passion and substance that give the brand a unique appeal and appearance. It's known for the movable rings and finely crafted 18k gold finished with cold enamel. Beyond the physical traits, Wellendorff has a line of collections that exude a story. For example, the Moments of Delight embodies happiness in small moments, like a surprise gift on an otherwise ordinary day. The Keep Me Safe tells of cupid's tale that matches two lonely strangers to become a happy couple. The Purple, perhaps, the most iconic of the collections, represents the royal lineage of the brand, which traces its roots in the nineteenth century on a watering hole favorited by German nobles.

This year is represented by Luck, that abstract idea of bringing good fortunes to one's life. Only 214 editions are made; each ring is in purple and accented by diamonds, while marked with “2014”. But you can also collect previous Wellendorff Ring of the Year styles as far back as 1997, which features a red ring with Chinese blossom. How to meet new people

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 10:00:00 AM in Wellendorf (31)

Don’t just dream of one day receiving a nice engagement ring like a Wellendorff from a guy who’s on his knees begging for your ‘yes.’ Whether you’ve just broken off from your last boyfriend, or you’re still waiting for the right guy, take the lead and meet new people now. The sooner you start the faster you’ll find him. Go out with friends and their friends or visit new hangouts to expand your horizon. When you’re introduced to a new prospect, keep it casual. Live in the moment and enjoy his company without thinking that he may be the right one. The trick is to be curious about him, rather than conscious about you. Stay positive, too. Don’t talk about past failed relationships or people you hate. Rather, think of the future and people that you love to meet.

Mystic Jewelry

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 3:45:00 AM in Wellendorf (31)

Oh, those amulets worn by barbarians with unsophisticated cultures. They are at best full of imaginations with little regard of reality. People in the past wore them during battles thinking they earn certain powers. Clearly, amulets belonged to societies untouched by the logic of civilization and culture of science. You wouldn’t see yourself wearing these childish trinkets in this modern age, would you? Well, maybe not. Wellendorff creates a stunning line of rope necklaces that borrowed the style and (imagine) perceived power of amulets, at least in a fun glamorous take. The Wellendorff  amulets and rondels add splendour to a necklace and your neck, too. They have a magical air to them reflected by the signature cold enamel and 18k yellow gold. Wear them in a formal evening event and watch eyes glow with envy and whispers of admiration.

Amulets of luxury

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 7:10:00 AM in Wellendorf (31)

They look like talismans, little trinkets from faraway lands that contain some magic or power. Wellendorff’s line of amulets and rondels are charming, if not stunning, add-on pendants and danglers to dress up a golden necklace or bracelet. The amulets and rondels are diamond-encrusted with colorful highlights.  The Genuine Delight Onyx stands out with its distinct white waves that seem to come out of the gemstone’s core, mimicking twinkling stars against a jet black night. The Rondel Firmament  features an opulent display of diamonds set on cold enamel 18k yellow gold reminiscent of starry summer nights. Similarly, the Rondel Cherry explodes in flaming cherry red like a summer’s day. Encrusted diamonds lend an accent to the style, reflecting the temporal beauty of cherry blossoms. These are some of trinkets that can be added to Wellendorff necklaces and bracelets.

Wellendorff in the Game of Thrones

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 12:00:00 PM in Wellendorf (31)

Wellendorff has an air of feudal opulence that reminds us of, what else? Game of Thrones. If the fine jewelry line is available to the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, who do you think will be buying them? Here are the possible Wellendorff candidates in this medieval fantasy land. Prince Oberyn of House Martell belongs to one of the richest families in Westeros with probably $42 million in total assets (horses included). Petyr Bealish may be worth $58 million in assets despite not being born into luxury. He’s made his fortune out of his “pleasure” houses servicing the other kingdoms. Daenerys Targaryen is also a good candidate to be wearing a Wellendorff. She probably has $381 million in assets having come from an old family that ruled the Seven Kingdoms for generations. But perhaps Tyrell and Lannister will be hoarding all the Wellendorff with a combined asset of nearly 15 billion dollars.

Jewelry through the ages

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 6:00:00 AM in Wellendorf (31)

The Wellendorff gold and purple rings have a mystic aura that brings you back to the essence of jewelry. More than just body adornments, jewelry has had a mysterious relationship with men and women since the ancient civilizations, even all the way back to prehistoric times. Cro-Magnons in Africa were known to wear necklaces and bracelets made from bone, teeth, berries, and stones as a form of protection. But the first modern jewelry as we know it today was forged by ancient Egyptians, who had made magnificent pieces out of gold in honor of their gods. The same magical effect would affect later civilizations including the ancient Greeks and Romans. Through the Middle Ages, jewelry would define one’s prestige and status in society. Today, we still measure success and social class, albeit subconsciously, based on these adornments. A Wellendorff ring, for one, means ultimate luxury.

Jewelry and royalty

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 4:48:16 AM in Wellendorf (31)

Purple is the color of royalty--probably the very reason why Wellendorff had to create a purple collection under its jewelry line. Jewelry is traditionally associated with royalty or nobility--fit for a king or queen and prince or princess. Other than this symbolism, purple also speaks volumes about the people who wear them. In color psychology, purple means gentleness and a free spirit aside from nobility. It also means being tranquil and peaceful, creative, idealistic and generous.
Wellendorff's purple jewelry collection perfectly embodies the purple character. It also looks pleasing to eyes and freshens up the mind. More than its captivating and adventurous designs, Wellendorff is also known for quality. It claims to be the finest German jewelry since 1893, and we couldn’t’ agree more.

Established and Sophisticated

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 12:00:00 AM in Wellendorf (31)

“She is an ‘established lady’. Well-educated, yet embracing traditional values, the typical Wellendorff wearer’s family is important to her. She has a sure instinct for things that are special and values quality, yet has no need to prove anything to anyone but herself,” says Claudia Wellendorf about the typical Wellendorf consumer. And for this sophisticated and established lady, Wellendorf has used established methods and sophisticated practices to match the said traits of their typical patron. Before every new season, designers present to the Wellendorf family many preliminary designs for screening. Once screened, they are ‘test driven’ by the Wellendorf women, including Claudio herself, before they make it to the new collection. When deemed worthy of the W symbol with a crown, the expert goldsmiths and designers perfect these pieces and add them to the collection. The 3rd and 4th generation of Wellendorf’s has continued the founder’s, Ernst Alexander Wellendorf, zeal of creating unique and perfectly-crafted fine jewelry founded upon genuine values and a craftsmanship to this day. With more than 118 years of tradition and expertise under Wellendorf’s belt, they have persisted to create pieces that dazzle. This coming 2013, sophisticated and established women around the world can’t wait to be surprised and delighted with new collections. Gold Like Silk

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 12:00:00 AM in Wellendorf (31)

“The idea was to treat gold like silk, to make the necklace smooth, soft, romantic, and unique, and our customers love it.”, said Cristoph Wellendorff, the fourth generation director and co-owner. This he said about the family’s prized design, the Wellendorff rope. The Wellendorff rope is the product of the founder’s, Ernst Alexander Wellendorff, passion to genuine values. Wellendorff only uses the best diamonds and colored stones in their collection. And for their prized rope, they still use the same techniques. Talented Wellendorff craftsmen and goldsmiths create a collier using a solid gold wire that extends almost as long as two football fields (160m). “This is the most sophisticated necklace Wellendorff has created since our beginning in 1893,” said Christoph. “The idea was to treat gold like silk, to make the necklace smooth, soft, romantic, and unique, and our customers love it.” For more of Wellendorff products, visit Shreve & Co. – authorized dealer for Wellendorff

The German Perfection

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 12:00:00 AM in Wellendorf (31)

The Germans’ drive to make things more better was a long road from being a country with little natural resources. They knew that to survive and make money, they must rely on their skills to sell to high-end markets in other countries. But it was not the monarchy or big trading companies that led the march of technically superior German products to the world, but an army of small entrepreneurs driven to hard work and mastery of their craft. “We may not have the gold, but we can create the best gold necklace,” a typical German goldsmith might be caught dreaming back then. Like one in a small town of Pforzheim in 1890s, a self-starter crafts man would fashion jewelry fit only for the nobility. Ernst Alexander Wellendorf had an eye for the tiniest detail to create fine jewelry out of gemstones and precious metals that his name would reach far to the corridors of Russian and English palaces. The Wellendorf legacy lives to this day as a brand of luxury and elegance painstakingly created by hand. It is known for rope necklaces and spinning rings and the diamond-studded “W” that the new rich prize so much.
