Highlighting Brilliance

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 2:00:00 AM in A. Link (23)

This philosophy is still carried to day and has helped set the company apart in the jewelry making industry. A. Link specializes in bringing your inner sparkle out for the world to see. It has become a company synonymous with the most brilliantly cut diamonds in the world. The precision, design and attention to detail enables A. Diamond trends

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 1:45:10 AM in A. Link (23)

Diamond jewelry like A. Link never fails to stand out as a fashion statement. Whether you’re wearing formal gown or a hip pair of jeans, the diamond catches the attention. They are timeless and always elegant, but diamond jewelry also follows trends to stay interesting. Recent trends include people liking vintage pieces, reminiscent of the opulent Victorian, Edwardian, and art deco eras. Vintage style usually features intricate scrollwork and royal allusion. Similarly, diamond jewelry with floral and magical moon designs are popular. Some of the trendy pieces include bejeweled insects and diamond rose brooches. Another popular trend lately is colored diamonds. From chocolate to champagne and pink to yellow hues, these diamonds add a rainbow feel to the jewelry. Incidentally, the two popular metals where diamonds are set include silver and white platinum and rose and yellow gold.

Greatest love stories

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 7:00:00 AM in A. Link (23)

We all love a great romantic story and we dream that we also experience one. And one way we express this aspiration is when we give a truly inspiring diamond jewelry like A. Link's square cut or pear shaped pendants. But be careful what you wish for. Not all great love stories end up happily ever after. In fact, one common element in many romantic stories is the tragedy that makes them more colorful. Nothing perhaps best illustrates a romantic tragedy than Romeo and Juliet. But there are other equally tear-jerking endings of recent popular love stories. For example, Nicholas Spark's The Notebook is a story of love and loss. Henry James' The Wings of Dove tells of a dying woman faced with her lover who's in love with someone else. Then there's Under the Jeweled Sky by Alison McQueen, which features a heroine who's forced to leave behind a magical place and her loved one.

Caught in the brotherhood of love

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 1:44:44 AM in A. Link (23)

It's the dreaded thing that can happen to you when asking a girl for a date. She can't because you're so likeable and charming and pleasing, protective, in short, you're like his brother. You've been friend zoned, a black hole from which hardly anyone has come out. The best way to solve the friend zone deadlock is, firs of all, not to get trapped in it. Most buddies that I know got friend zoned because they linger too long with a girl, unsure when they'll spit it out, their intention, that is. In the process, the girl starts to be comfortable around the guy, instead of arousing romantic emotions. So to avoid the brotherhood of love, get the message out right away, well not tomorrow, in a few weeks maybe, so she gets the right signal. Then cap it with an A. Link ring, but that maybe too early in the game.

From Vienna with Perfection

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 7:33:15 AM in A. Link (23)

To the untrained eye a diamond is a diamond. But to the masters, an A. Link stone is a cut above the usual. It uses a 60/60 table and depth cut that gives the diamond more dazzle even in the dark with a hint of light. The ratio creates the ideal balance between weight and refraction, creating an extra sparkle not found in standard cuts. Likewise, the cut maximizes polish, culet, symmetry, and girdle, all prized by jewelry retailers in the U.S. This technique is brought to the country by Adolph Link from Vienna in the mid-1890s. Using the skills and techniques he learned from Europe's master jewelers, Link would create one of America's luxurious diamond jewelry, whose color, clarity, and craftsmanship match the benchmarks of the Gemological Institute of America and the American Gem Society.

Happy wife is key to marriage

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 5:00:00 AM in A. Link (23)

The woman may be playing a more important role in keeping the marriage than previously thought, so said researchers at the Rutgers University and the University of Michigan. Because women in general are more expressive, their happiness, researchers said, can easily manifest to their husbands' outlook. Conversely, a happy husband may not send the signals as fast or clear as the other way around, according to the study. Researchers analyzed data from 394 couples who have been married for at least 39 years. Although the study is inconclusive it supports the social stereotype of the woman as the key make of the home, while the husband provides the support. If you're a husband make sure to think about your wife's happiness to keep the marriage healthy. Surprise her with a gift, an A. Link bracelet, perhaps; she deserves to be happy.

How to keep him interested

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 11:00:00 AM in A. Link (23)

You got your dream man and now the hard part—how to keep him interested up to that day when he’ll want to give you an A. Link ring. You don’t have to try hard; just be yourself. One good way is to maintain a bit of mystery. Don’t divulge to him all your interests, skills, likes, hates, hobbies, achievements…keep something as a secret and let him discover this. Just when he thinks he’s got you wrapped around his arms, spring a surprise by showing him you play the guitar (just an example). Pamper him a bit (but not too much) by playing around his favorite likes. For instance, he likes spicy food. Without looking obvious eat spicy food with a poker face once in a while and watch his amazement especially that he knows you don’t like spicy. Just keep that glass of water really close.

Winging Jewelries

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 3:00:00 AM in A. Link (23)

Jewelries are not all a display of luxury and opulent lifestyle. They hold symbols or meanings that you can play out and add spice to that evening when you give someone an A. Link.  A four leaf clover represents good luck. When you give it, you’re wishing the recipient the best in her future. Meantime, go deeper than symbolizing love with a heart-styled jewelry. A heart design represents affection, cohesion, unity, or femininity and sensuality. On the other hand, a cross, a favorite among luxury signature brands, doesn’t always take on a religious symbol. It is generally given as a sign of protection against evil or a fashionable peace symbol. Next time you’re giving someone  jewelry, pay attention to its symbol or meaning so you can add a twist to the moment.

Maximizing Creative Liberties

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 10:12:47 AM in A. Link (23)

Earrings are often the most exciting pieces a jewelry designer could work on. Their close proximity to the face make their every little detail easily noticeable, and the way they are hung instead of wrapped around allows infinite possibilities of 360-degree sculptural designs – a freedom that could not be enjoyed by artists with the more restricted rings or bracelets. Diamond jewelry specialist A. Link loves to take these creative liberties to evoke beauty and elegance through its many notable earring pieces. The Figaro Chandelier Earring, part of A. Link’s Opera collection, lends an air of drama and timeless romance to the wearer’s visage and highlights her lovely features with a dazzling diamond backdrop. The image of the elaborately designed pair of diamond earrings cascading down to the neckline creates a lovely whimsical and sophisticated impression that makes a beautiful face difficult to forget.

Let the Dazzle Say It All

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 10:40:15 AM in A. Link (23)

Diamonds are a girl's best friends. But let's face the brutal fact – a woman does not typically understand the technical details of a cut diamond, nor does she really care much about it. Never mind that an A. Link diamond maximizes diameter weight and reflectivity with its 60/60 cut, or that the table and depth are precisely cut to exacting proportions to produce the dazzling effect of scintillation, fire and brilliance. She will have no real grasp of paved setting nor tell the difference between an emerald and an asscher cut. In fact, she won't understand half of what had just been written. The one thing that will really speak to her is the A. Link’s dazzling sparkle of the gem when her man slips it on her finger; it’s the ring’s exceptional brilliance even under the least amount of light, and his loving effort in finding her the best diamond engagement or wedding ring there is.
Bring her the ring with a brilliance that speaks for itself and let A. Link help you out with that. Visit Shreve & Co. in Palo Alto and ask for A. Link’s alluring diamond engagement and wedding rings.

If Brilliance is the Priority…

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 12:00:00 AM in A. Link (23)

Diamonds are a woman’s best friend. And one thing that makes a diamond desirable is its brilliance. And what diamond can shine brighter than A. Link’s? By just requiring the minimum light available, A. Link’s signature 60/60 cut diamonds can sparkle in the dark. These stones are of 58 to 61 percent table sizes with depth percentages of 59 to 61. These percentages average a 60/60 that provides the alluring effects. These diamonds are meant to last forever as heirlooms; brilliant ones that can be passed on from generation to generation just like A. Link, the brand itself. A. Link is not just a business but a culture of expertise and perfection that was passed on from generation to generation. With many heirlooms to choose from different collections, one can be sure that any piece can be mesmerizingly simple, elegant and brilliant. This is evident in the Double Layered Collection as rows of diamonds, separated by rows of smaller diamonds, create not bracelets and necklaces of diamonds but “sheets” of diamonds. The effect renders the settings invisible enabling the sparkle of the rocks to arrest the eyes. If brilliance in the priority, there is no better choice than A. Link. For more of head-turning A. Link collections, visit Shreve & Co. – authorized dealers for A. Link.

Make the cut

Posted by Shreve & Co. at 12:00:00 AM in A. Link (23)

Diamonds may be forever, but they are not created equal. They may mesmerize the untrained eye with an inner kaleidoscopic glow dance, but some diamonds literally shine more than the others. Even if you hold it in the dark with little light, a precisely made diamond can create a dazzling show of light where other wither out. Like an A. Link diamond. Using a signature 60/60 table and depth ratio cut, A. Link diamonds create an elegant balance of weight and refraction that makes its diamonds sparkle above traditionally cut stones. The cut gives maximum polish, symmetry, culet and girdle that jewelry retailers in the U.S. prize and came to trust. It all started when Adolph Link migrated from Vienna to New York in 1894, armed only with the skills and passion of his goldsmith father. Crafting jewelry with the best in Fifth Avenue, New York, he perfected the cut and would establish A. Link as one of the world’s leading diamond jewelry brands. Today, A. Link diamonds preserve the consistent signature cut whether hand or machine crafted, its color and clarity grades match the standards of the Gemological Institute of America and the American Gem Society.
