The stars wax and wane but never die, not in at least millions of years anyway. For people who journey through life, the stars are some of the beautiful, remarkable things that change with the seasons but never really change. The Rendez-Vous Celestial automatic watch, by the world’s premier maker of haute horlogerie pieces Jaeger-LeCoultre, is a tribute to this grand celestial display which has inspired Antoine LeCoultre’s dream for the Manufacture 180 years ago in the Vallée de Joux. The watch’s guilloché dial is made of beautiful lapoz lazuli that is marked with the numerals on a beautiful arc and depicts the Northern hemisphere with its rich collection of famous constellations. A shooting star indicates the month when the next rendez-vous would occur. A gem-set white gold case, held comfortably around the wrist with an alligator leather bracelet, houses the dial and the grand complication underneath, Calibre 809 automatic movement.
