For the Lucky Few

Posted at 12:00:00 AM in Corum (5)

If price is a mark of quality and stature, Corum got it nailed down. The brand stands for high-value and quality timepieces that are often released in limited editions. If you own a Corum, you are the lucky few who enjoy the premium reputation the brand exudes. One masterpiece, the Corum Classical Billionaire Tourbillon, fetches nearly a million pounds, with some Tourbillion versions starting at 325,000 pounds. The expensive but stylish brand was started in 1955 by founders Gaston Ries and Renee Bannwart, which, a classic story goes: they created a gold wristwatch out of a $20-dollar coin and it became a hit among watch lovers. Corum furthered its world reputation when it released its Admiral’s Cup chronograph line that today is available in myriad manufacture of stainless steel, titanium, rose and yellow gold. Likewise, Corum is known for its “World Premiers” collection released on limited supply each year. Its other limited editions, prized for their fine workmanship and elegant style, include the Golden Bridge with its sapphire sides; the Coin Watch with a diamond bezel; and Artisan Timepieces, with its beautifully crafted dials of wild animals, exotic places, and historic scenes among others.

Shreve is an authorized dealer for Corum.
