In 1874, Georges Edouard Piaget founded a small watchmaking workshop in Côte-aux-Fées, Switzerland, where he used his horological skills to manufacture watch movements. His son, Timothée, took over the business in 1911 and dedicated it efforts towards producing Piaget’s own line of wrist watches. The company is best known for the world’s thinnest watch movements. In fact, in 1960, Piaget watchmakers developed the Calibre 12P, the world’s thinnest automatic movement according to the Guinness Book of Records. Piaget also introduced the Altiplano 900P in 2014, the world’s thinnest hand-wound mechanical watch.
With multiple awards and records, Piaget has established itself as one of the world’s most prestigious watch brands.
